Jill is a lecturer in the School of Medical and Health Sciences, she is the undergraduate coordinator for the Bachelor of Health Science and coordinates the Health Science practicums included in the HST3502 core unit for majors in the Health Promotion, Nutrtion, Addiction Studies, Occupational Therapy & Safety and Environmental Health.

Background

Jill has worked with health, safety and education agencies with experience in Government and NFP sectors. She promotes Work Integrated Learning and supports the employability of Health Science tertiary students. As an Executive Member of the WA Health Promoting Schools Association she promotes effective strategies to target wellness in young people.

Jill is an active contributor to the governance of road safety including an elected Counsellor of the Royal Automobile Club WA and Deputy Road User member of the Road Safety Council of WA.

Research Areas and Interests

Jill’s research focus include Food Insecurity in regional and remote WA; Campus food outlet audits 2016; SmokeFree ECU Project Coordinator 2009-16 including development of online resources www.ecu.edu.au/smokefree; Teaching and Learning grants developing online portfolios, employability and contemporary teaching tools.
