In the School of Medical and Health Sciences you can study a science-related degree in courses as diverse as Medical and Biomedical Science, Exercise and Sports Science, Nutrition and Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Paramedical Science, Health Promotion, Environmental Health, Addictions, Environmental Management or Occupational Health and Safety. Medical and Exercise Sciences

Exercise Science 

The Medical and Exercise Science program offers teaching and research in the disciplines of Medical and Biomedical Science, Exercise and Sports Science, as well as a unique program in Football Science and a world-leading program in Strength and Conditioning. Our award-winning academics not only conduct world-leading research, but are active professionals in their fields with experience in national and international organisations. The expertise of our staff bridges the gap between science and application, providing a diverse and comprehensive educational experience for our students.

Students have opportunity to undertake structured and supervised vocational placements, where they have the opportunity to experience first-hand the reality of the workplace, utilise the skills and knowledge gained in their course, and enhance their understanding of future career opportunities. Within the Football Science program, students have had placements with several football clubs, including performance analysis at the West Coast Eagles, Western Force, and Perth Glory.

Public Health and Occupational Health and Safety

Public Health 

The disciplines within Public Health and Occupational Health and Safety cover a broad range of contemporary topics. Our staff have significant industry experience and are actively engaged within their professions. Courses are developed to be flexible in delivery, and the curriculum is designed in collaboration with industry Consultative Committees and accrediting bodies to ensure it remains relevant and specialised to produce job-ready graduates. Occupational health and hygiene students have access to world-class facilities and laboratory equipment.

Allied Health

Allied Health 

In the disciplines of Allied Health, students can study Paramedical Science, Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Pathology. Students gain the essential mix of knowledge and skills needed to work within a range of health settings. With a strong focus on transferring knowledge to a clinical context, students learn within on-site laboratories and in supportive clinical environments. Our lecturers have real-world clinical experience and are actively involved in research focused on improving the health outcomes of the broader community. All courses are developed through professional consultation and are updated according to research evidence.
