Designing multimedia chemistry teaching resources, novel chemistry experiments and chemical demonstrations

This project looks at developing multimedia resources, novel chemistry experiments and chemical demonstrations to help students better understand chemical concepts. Multimedia has progressively become a significant and important teaching tool in science disciplines, including chemistry. Chemistry is a visual subject and its understanding can be greatly enhanced through the use of appropriate images and interactive computer simulations. Simulations can assist students in learning chemistry at a molecular level. This project will provide you with skills in developing simple multimedia resources using Microsoft PowerPoint and Authorware programs for designing and developing novel first-year chemistry experiments and chemical demonstrations. You will need to have a sound background in the foundations of chemistry and education theory and an interest in teaching.
