The School of Nursing and Midwifery is located on ECU’s Joondalup Campus and offers a variety of working laboratories and demonstration wards for use by its students.
We have two laboratories and a preparation area where practical sessions are held on pathophysiology and pharmacology. Labs are located in Building 21, rooms 21.330 and 21.331. To use or book any of the resources within these labs, see the technical staff in rooms 21.327, or call 6304 3457.
Our demonstration wards prepare students for clinical practicum’s by providing a simulated ward environment in which tutors can discuss and demonstrate aspects of nursing care. The demonstration wards feature a range of mannequins, including Sim-Man, Sim-Baby, ALS mannequins and Nursing Anne. The Demonstration Wards are located in Building 21, rooms 21.317 through to 21.322. Our Anatomy Museum houses potted specimens, models, charts, textbooks and computers for using course associated chemistry, anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology and clinical microbiology computer packages. The museum is an invaluable learning tool for all students, and should be used as an extension to lecture, laboratory and tutorial sessions. There are 30 new IBM PC’s connected to broadband Internet available at the Computing Lab for study use. The lab is located in Building 21, Room 21.206. To log on, simply use the same username and password as you use for SIMO, My ECU and email. If you have trouble remembering your username or password, call the IT Service desk on extension 6000 from an internal phone or 6304 6000 from an external phone.
