Melanie is a lecturer within the School of Nursing and Midwifery.

Her teaching philosophy is underpinned by role-modelling behaviours of the respectful and professional Registered Nurse. This approach enables nursing students to develop empowering attitudes towards their own learning and allows growth of their own professional identity.

Research Areas and Interests:

Melanie is currently completing her Master candidature by research. She is exploring the concept of ‘moving-on’ after critical incidents in health care by conducting a qualitative study of the experiences of nurses and midwives.
