Evaluating the effectiveness of an intervention for recently bereaved men: The men in the kitchen project

The Men in the Kitchen program, run by the SolarisCare Foundation, offers recently bereaved young men a chance to learn cooking skills in a supportive environment, and aims to promote psychological wellbeing and social support. This project will evaluate the efficacy of the program in terms of its effects on the participants’ quality of life and mood and will explore issues of particular relevance to this group of men. The project will use a mix of written surveys and one-to-one interviews to collect data. Data will be analysed to determine the effectiveness of the program and to identify areas that are problematic for younger bereaved men.
