A pilot study to assess if evidence based guidelines can reduce symptoms of burden and psychological distress in patients undergoing chemotherapy
The aim of this study is to evaluate the implementation of specific evidence based guidelines to reduce the symptom burden and therefore the psychological distress, cancer patients who require outpatient chemotherapy at Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital experience. A pretest-post test quasi-experimental design will be used. This two-stage study will be conducted over 12 months, in the outpatient chemotherapy department. All patients who are booked to attend the chemotherapy education session will be invited to participate in the study.
