Midwifery workforce plan – safe, affordable and sustainable midwifery staffing
The aim of this two year research project is to establish baseline midwifery workforce data which can be utilised in the implementation and evaluation of different staffing models in the maternity care areas that compliment the use of workload models.
This will include the evaluation of roles and benefits of new support workers, for example maternity care assistants, to efficiency and indicators such as patient safety, patient satisfaction and strategic human resource indicators.
