Students speak to employers at the Business & Law Careers Fair
Faculty of Business and Law students recently attended the 2011 Business & Law Careers Fair, held on Tuesday 29 March on the Joondalup campus. The day proved to be a success, with hundreds of students meeting with employers, industry associations, and career experts throughout the event.
Over twenty organisations were present at the fair, including:
- ACS Foundation
- Burswood Entertainment Complex
- City of Joondalup
- Department of Agriculture and Food
- Department of Corrective Services
- Duxton Hotel
- ECU Careers Service
- Faculty of Business and Law Postgraduate and Research
- ISS Group
- Legal Aid
- Perth Heat
- The College of Law
- Volunteering WA
- WA Police
- Wrays Intellectual Property
- Young Australian Tourism Association
Students were also treated to employer presentations, a goody bag and a free sausage sizzle.
Workplace Opportunities Coordinator Ms Janet Simmons organised the event, and was pleased with the turn out.
“It was wonderful to see so many students take advantage of this great occasion. It is important for students to start thinking about employment at an early stage, and by hosting this event on campus, we hope we have made it easier for our students to realise what employers are looking for and what opportunities are available to them,” she said.
