PGSB Leadership Seminar

Tuesday, 06 March 2012

Our new Postgraduate and MBA Program Director, Associate Professor Maryam Omari, invites all Faculty of Business and Law postgraduate students to attend the first seminar in the 2012 Perth Graduate School of Business (PGSB) Leadership Seminar Series. This exciting, free program offers inspiring speakers and networking opportunities to students.

The first event, ‘Sustainability: opportunities and challenges’, will bring special guest speaker Dr Ian Martinus to the stage. Dr Martinus will speak on the challenges he faced and the opportunities that came his way to lead him to his current role with Yanchep Beach Joint Venture, a sustainable city venture in Perth’s north.

As well as a Doctorate of Business Administration in Information Systems from ECU, Dr Martinus has an extensive international career. He worked for Deloitte Consulting on various international development contracts including AusAID in South Africa, and USAID in Iraq and Pakistan. He has also worked on eGovernment and international trade projects, and for the World Bank in Afghanistan. From 2000 to 2005, he was the inaugural Economic Development Manager for the City of Wanneroo.

Share in Dr Martinus’ knowledge as he tells the story of his journey to success, and focuses on the opportunities and challenges that sustainable business practices present.
