Visit by Victoria Police member to present seminars on policing sexual violence

Tuesday, 31 August 2010

In August, Sgt Tony Breen from Victoria Police was an invited guest of the Centre where he delivered a key seminar to staff, postgraduate students and police members from the WA Police Academy and Rape and Sexual Offences Squad. The seminar was standing room only and proved an enormous success. Sgt Breen met with senior WA Police and worked with key ECU staff to advance discussions on key areas of police education, training and management of sexual offences. Staff and undergraduate and postgraduate students from law, criminology and psychology were particularly interested in Sgt Breen's seminars and meetings with students during his visit to the Social Justice Research Centre.
