Our ECU students developed and provided several interactive activities that highlighted School of Science courses and majors.
CoSIM and CASSA student associations operated stalls at ECU’s Open Day and Orientation Day for prospective and enrolled students. Both booths provided fun interactive activities that showcased courses of study in Computing and Security Science.
The associations have a good mix of first year, undergraduate and postgraduate students who answered many questions related to career pathways, personal experiences and skill levels. Students were interested in digital technologies and the employment move to automation. Many queries were responded with getting the older high school students to learn about the capabilities of digital technologies, coding languages, and microprocessors such as Arduino’s and Raspberry Pi’s.
The younger members of the community were directed to ECU’s CoderDojo’s. This is a great opportunity for school aged children to learn and develop coding skills.
