ECU WAMBOT project is based on the MAGIC 2010 project done in 2010, which was hosted by DSTO, Australia and Defence Dept in USA. Our team, WAMBOT (Western Australian Mobile roBOT) won the 4th place in the final competition took place in Adelaide, SA in November 2010. The aim of this ECU WAMBOT project is 1) to enhance the existing WAMBOT system, so we will be able 2) to deliver international level of robotics challenge using autonomous unmanned ground vehicles. The existing system consists of a number of sub systems, such as an exploration module using Frontier-based algorithm, a path-planning using a modified A* algorithm, and a navigation using Elastic Bands and Dynamic Window approach.
