Off Campus units
Units that are available Off Campus will be timetabled with the mode as OFF.
Edith Cowan University offers Off- campus studies both nationally and internationally.
Off-campus units give students who prefer not to attend lectures on campus due to distance reasons, domestic responsibilities, work commitments or disability, the opportunity to pursue studies. While most Off-campus units do not require attendance on campus, some exceptions may occur for Higher Degree by Research programs and attendance for exams.
Off-campus students need to be aware they are required to commit to a regular time frame of study over a semester, in order to meet unit deadlines.
Computer Requirements
To study Off-campus you will need a computer (or regular access to a computer) with access to the Internet.
Learning Materials
All students enrolled in OFF units will receive a flyer containing information relating to studying Off-campus.
Each unit has an online learning site available through the online learning management system - MyECU (Blackboard). This online system will provide you with the resources needed to complete your unit successfully, as well as providing links to resources available in the ECU Library and elsewhere.
Some units are supported by additional resources such as DVDs and if so, they will be posted to you prior to the commencement of the teaching period.
Textbooks can be purchased from the ECU Bookshop at http://www.ecu.edu.au/fas/bookshop. You can access your booklist through the “Booklist” button available in SIMO the online enrolment system.
Off Campus Tuition
Off-campus tuition is provided by academic staff, many of whom already tutor on campus students.
Lecturers / tutors should be used as a first point of contact to assist and advise you regarding any issues you may have with your unit studies and progress.
We wish you well with your studies.
