Edith Cowan University Scholarships
ECU Excellence Scholarships
ECU Excellence Scholarships are open to school leavers displaying outstanding academic excellence and endeavour. There are 12 scholarships available valued at $4000 for each full-time year (or pro rata) of a student's undergraduate course at ECU. Nominations are sought from Year 12 school leavers who can demonstrate academic excellence and endeavour, leadership and a commitment to ECU's core values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry and Personal Excellence. Students can apply by either self-nomination or nomination by their School Principal.

ECU South West Campus Scholarships
The ECU South West Campus Scholarship is valued at $4000 for each full-time
year (or equivalent) of a student's undergraduate course at ECU. Four scholarships will be awarded to students from the South West who will commence studies at ECU's South West Campus in 2009. Nominations are being taken from school Principals for Year 12 school leavers who can demonstrate academic excellence and endeavour, leadership and a commitment to ECU's core values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry and Personal Excellence.

ECU Vice Chancellor's Indigenous Australian Scholarship (UG)
Offered to an Indigenous Australian student to assist her/him to complete a Bachelor degree at ECU this scholarship is available to students who have completed at least two semesters of full-time study (or the equivalent part-time) and is selected on the basis of academic merit and leadership and contribution within the community . The scholarship provides $2,500.00 per semester for full-time study or pro-rata for part-time study for up to seven semesters.

Executive Dean's Honours Scholarship - Faculty of Business and Law (HON)
The Faculty of Business and Law offers up to five (5) scholarships to the value of $5000.00 for students who have completed their degree at ECU and are eligible for Honours in the areas of Business (all), Leisure and Justice. Eligible students must:
- Have completed a relevant undergraduate degree
- Have achieved a high level of academic success
- Enrolled in an Honours programme within the Faculty of Business and Law in Semester 1, 2008
- Be an Australian Citizen

Commonwealth Scholarships
Commonwealth Education Costs Scholarships & Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarships
These scholarships include the existing Commonwealth Education Costs Scholarships (CECS) and Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarships (CAS) for bachelor degree, honours and Post-Grad Education or Nursing students as well as new assistance for Associate Degree students and Indigenous students undertaking tertiary enabling courses. Commonwealth Scholarships are intended to facilitate choice and increase higher education participation by students from low income backgrounds and Indigenous students, students with disabilities or ongoing illness and students from rural/regional areas.

ANZ Support Scholarship
The all new ANZ Support Scholarships are intended to provide tangible support to students at ECU from designated equity groups who have demonstrated that they have the academic ability required to succeed at University. Applications are sought from students from low income backgrounds, Indigenous Australians, people with a disability or ongoing illness, people with significant caring responsibilities and those from rural or regional areas. There are two ANZ Support Scholarships awarded annually, valued at $3750 each. Applicants must have successfully completed one-semester of full time, on-campus study and must be currently enrolled in full time, on-campus study. Not open to student in receipt of any other Commonwealth or ECU funded scholarships.

Kurongkurl Katitjin Scholarships
This scholarship is awarded each semester on the basis of engagement and successful completion of enabling units. Available to Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent students, enrolled for study in the Indigenous University Orientation Course (IUOC) course at Kurongkurl Katitjin, ECU. Scholarships offered at $100 each unit of study per semester. The aim of the scholarship is to acknowledge students who are engaging in and completing their course of study while showing a strong determination towards further studies.

Fogarty Foundation Scholarships (PG)
The Fogarty Foundation in conjunction with ECU offers a number of full and half scholarships for qualified teachers to undertake a Graduate Certificate of Education, specialising in Learning Difficulties. The course is designed to address the need for classroom teachers, specialist teachers and educational leaders to upgrade their skills and qualifications to meet the needs of students who find literacy and numeracy difficult. The Graduate Certificate, which requires four (4) units of study, articulates into the Masters of Education course. Successful graduates of the Graduate Certificate of Education (Learning Difficulties) may apply for a half scholarship to complete the Masters of Education (specialising in Learning Difficulties) course. The scholarships provide funding for units fees.

Graylands Teachers College Memorial Scholarships - Bachelor of Education (UG)
Three scholarships valued at $1,000 each have been established to support further study at Edith Cowan University for outstanding students in the field of education and to perpetuate the memory of the Graylands Teachers College. The scholarships are open to full-time, fourth year ECU Bachelor of Education students. Generally one scholarship in the areas of Early Childhood Studies/Kindergarten through Primary, Primary/Special Education (ECS, Primary & Secondary) and Secondary Education will be awarded. Applicants must be an Australian citizen or hold permanent residency status. The scholarship selection is based on academic merit in core science and mathematics units from the first three years of the degree. All eligible students will automatically be considered for this scholarship in March of each year, no application is required.

Dr John Woolcott Scholarship (UG)
Offered on the basis of academic merit and financial need to an undergraduate student in either the Bachelor of Health Sciences or Bachelor of Nursing. Applicants must have completed at least one semester of full-time study. The scholarship will normally be valid for the second and third year of the course, subject to the recipient maintaining a semester average of 70% or more. The scholarship provides $2000 per year for full-time study or pro-rata for part-time study. Application information will be sent to all eligible students directly by their relevant school.

The Lesley Lillian Graham Scholarships are open fourth year students enrolled in either a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or Bachelor of Arts (Education) / Bachelor of Arts and are majoring in English OR enrolled in a Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary) with a curriculum study major in English Education. Mrs Mac's Rural Scholarship (UG, HON)
Mrs Macs invite eligible ECU students to apply for the Mrs Mac's Rural Scholarships. These scholarships were established to assist ECU students normally living in rural Western Australia, but who are required to live away from home during their studies each semester. Ten scholarships are on offer, valued at $1,000 each ($500 per semester for one year).

Nedlands (Secondary) Teachers College Memorial Scholarship - Rural/Remote Secondary Teaching (PG)
This annual scholarship is aimed at supporting a rural/remote secondary teacher in building professional competence through study at the masters level, as the Nedlands Secondary Teachers College had a focus on developing the professional competence of secondary teachers, many of whom served in rural and remote areas. The scholarship is open to students commencing the first year of the Master of Education or having completed no more than two units of the MEd. Applicants must be secondary teachers, teaching at a rural or remote secondary school, including rural district high schools, within Western Australia. The scholarship selection is based on academic merit and teaching experience and valued at $1,000.

Science and Innovation Studentship Awards (UG)
These awards were introduced in 2004 to provide an opportunity for research students to work on a project with a Western Australian private sector organisation of their choice for a period of 10 weeks. The Studentship aims to encourage creativity and innovation in science students/graduates with students allowed to broaden their professional experience and gain valuable skills and experience in developing and applying their own ideas. The awards, valued at $7,000 each, are open to WA students in a science discipline who have completed the equivalent of at least 2 years full-time study in their degree. The Studentship is also open to graduates, with preference given to recent graduates.

Sue Knox Memorial Scholarship (UG)
The Sue Knox Memorial Fund has been established to support students with disabilities at ECU. The Scholarship is offered to continuing students who have a disability and are registered with the Student Equity & Diversity Officer . Zonta Club of Perth Northern Suburbs - Lucy Bohan Bursary (UG)
Lucy Bohan was a well known and respected Western Australian Nurse Educator and a Past-President of the Zonta Club of Perth Northern Suburbs, a womens service group who promote, amongst other causes, the status of women. Following Lucyâ??s death in 1990, the Club decided to honour her memory with the naming of the Lucy Bohan Bursary. Valued at $1,000 the Lucy Bohan Bursary is awarded to a female nursing student who has completed their first year of study towards a Bachelor of Nursing in at ECU.

WAAPA Scholarships
Barbara MacLeod Scholarship
This scholarship, valued at up to $12,000 was established in memory of Captain Barbara Denise MacLeod. The scholarship aims to enable undergraduate and postgraduate students in the Classical Music program at WAAPA@ECU to develop specialist skills in their chosen field by undertaking a short intensive programme of study in another world-class institution. Applications are open to female students who are Australian Citizens and have completed one year full-time in the programme, receiving High Distinctions for their Principal Study. Applications are not invited from Percussionists.

Brett Lockyer Scholarship
Valued at up to $5,000 the Brett Lockyer Scholarship is designed to enable the further development of jazz clarinet studies at ECU and/or to further develop those specialist skills in a currently enrolled jazz clarinet student at WAAPA. The scholarship may be used for a) an undergraduate or postgraduate student studying jazz clarinet within the Jazz programme at WAAPA for costs associated with undertaking a programme of study at another world class institution or with a world-renowned jazz clarinet performer or teacher; b) to fund a short International or National Jazz Clarinet Artist in Residence program at WAAPA; c) to fund practical workshops in Australian secondary schools promoting jazz clarinet; or d) as an incentive for a Secondary School student to study jazz clarinet within the Jazz programme at WAAPA.
