ACAS/Coca Cola Regional Scholarships
The Australian Council of Agricultural Societies with funding from Coca-Cola Amatil developed this program to support rural youth in Australia to complete their tertiary studies in courses that will benefit regional Australia. To be eligible for the $2,000 scholarship applicants need to be enrolled in an Australian Tertiary Institution course related to agriculture, be a member of an Australian Agricultural Show Society and be an Australian citizen or permanent resident. Successful applicants must be prepared to travel to the Capital City of their home state during the
Annual Royal Show to formally be presented with the scholarship.

ACS Foundation Scholarships
An initiative of the Australian Computer Society, the ACS Foundation was established to encourage both private and public sponsorship of IT higher education and research projects. The prime scholarship facilitator focused exclusively on the ICT industry, the ACS Foundation receives funding from ICT companies, industry associations, Government bodies, individuals and the ACS itself. An ATO-designated Deductible Gift Recipient, the ACS Foundation provides tax effective programs for industry and private donors. The ACS Foundation has scholarships available throughout the year and encourages students to apply even if they do not see a suitable scholarship listed on the web site.

Allied Health Clinical Placement Scholarship Scheme
The Services for Australian Rural and Remote Allied Health (SARRAH) has been appointed by the Australian Government to administer the Allied Health Clinical Placement Scholarship Scheme (AHCPSS). The scholarship will assist eligible scholars to undertake a clinical placement in a rural or remote Australian community. AHCPSS
is valued up to $12,000 per scholarship and will contribute to funding
for up to six weeks while the scholar is on their clinical placement.
Successful scholars will receive funding towards, travel to and from the
placement location, accommodation costs and living expenses. The
scholarship is now closed for 2009 applications.
Eligibility Criteria and Application Form will be available on www.sarrah.org.au from this date.
American Australian Association
The American Australian Association Education Fund awards individual Fellowships of up to US$25,000 each year in its USA to Australia Program. The Association encourages intellectual interchange and the Fellowships are intended to build on the strong social and economic partnership between Australia and the United States.

Apex Foundation for Research into Intellectual Disability - Studentships
The Foundation is willing to receive applications for studentships from tertiary students who are studying degrees below the level of doctorate within Australia, and who are preparing theses as part of their studies. Three (3) studentships to the value of $2,000 each are available. the funds from which may be applied to either technical or personal expenses. The conditions are that the thesis must be related to intellectual disability, and that the thesis plan has been approved by the Department of Faculty within which the student is working. Applications should take the form of a letter setting out a description of the studies being undertaken and a typed copy of the thesis plan, together with a supporting letter from the Head of the relevant Department.

Asthma Foundation of Western Australia - Vi Watson Vacation Scholarships
The Asthma Foundation offers Vacation Scholarships for research projects relevant to asthma. Applicants will be University undergraduates who have successfully completed at least 2 years of a degree course or who have completed their degree or students who have completed their Honours year.

Australian Government Department of Defence - Chief Finance Officer Scholarship
If you are in your penultimate year of a finance related degree, undertaking a major in one of the following fields: commerce, banking and finance, accounting or business studies, you can apply for a scholarship to build a career in one of Australia's largest organisations. The Scholarship Program consists of three paid work placements within the Finance Executive. Work placements will be in Canberra during university term and semester breaks throughout the year. Relocation assistance will be provided to those students required to travel interstate to complete their work placements. Scholarship holders will receive a payment of $2,100.00 to assist with their studies and up to an additional $1,000.00 towards university textbook charges.

Australian Music Foundation Award
The Australian Music Foundation was established in 1980 and exists to offer financial support to outstanding young Australian musicians who wish to pursue post-graduate music courses in leading music education institutions in Europe. Every year the Foundation makes grants to one or more carefully selected students, whom the Australian Music Foundation and its specially selected panel of judges, believe will excel in their artistry and to whom financial support is essential to assist them to undertake courses of study at the leading music colleges in Europe.

Australian Rural and Remote Health Professional Scholarship Scheme
Funded through the Department of Health and Ageing Clinical health professionals in rural and remote areas, this Australian Government initiative contributes to the recruitment and retention of key members of the clinical healthcare workforce in rural and remote Australia, by providing financial assistance to assist in overcoming some of the barriers experienced by these practitioners in accessing continuing professional development activities. Preference in the selection process is normally given to those applicants who undertake to both study and continue to work in regional, rural or remote areas. Scholarships are now available for rural and remote allied health professionals aimed at enabling the rural and remote allied health workforce to undertake postgraduate education including short courses, tertiary qualifications and conferences.

Cancer Council of WA - The Edward and Patricia Usher Student Vacation Research Scholarships
Each year a number of awards valued at $2,000 are offered to students by The Cancer Council Western Australia for tenure during the long Christmas vacation. Projects must broadly relate to cancer and applicants must have successfully completed the first two years of an appropriate degree course in the disciplines relevant to cancer control (in the case of medical students, this would be at the end of their third year). Awards are for a period of 4 to 10 weeks.

Centrelink Indigenous Cadetship Program
The National Indigenous Cadetship Project (NICP) provides opportunities for Indigenous Australians to gain qualifications needed for a range of jobs in both the public and private sectors. The program can assist with payment of university fees, assistance with purchasing books and equipment, a study allowance and opportunities for practical work experience.

Chevening Scholarships
The Chevening Scholarships programme is funded by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and administered by us. The programme offers outstanding graduates and young professionals the opportunity to study at UK universities. The awards are made for one year's formal study for a postgraduate qualification or for a shorter period of not less than three months to pursue private study or research at a university or similar institution in Britain. Chevening scholarships are not available to anyone who has benefited in the last three years from other awards funded by the British Government.

Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan
The Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) is for Australians wishing to study in the United Kingdom. Awards are based upon three main criteria including academic record and candidate potential, quality of the proposal and the candidate's leadership credentials. Since their inception in 1959, some 25,000 individuals have benefited

Constitution Education Fund Australia - Civics Scholarship Award

Constitution Education Fund Australia - Governor-General's Essay Competition
This competition, now entering it's fourth year awards winning contestants up to $33,000 in cash prizes. The essay questions are based on current constitutional and public policy topics designed to suit student from all university faculties.
Previous topics include: relationship between faith and secular society, the right to vote, media ownership, Citizenship legislation, federalism and Australian history. Department of Education - Teaching Scholarships
There has never been a better time to become a teacher in Western Australia. The Department is offering teaching scholarships with fantastic benefits - you can receive up to $60,000*. There are a variety of scholarships available for people:
- going into their final year of a teaching qualification

Ellen Violet Brown Scholarship
On the death of Ellen Violet Brown in 1981, her Will created a scholarship program to benefit indigenous students undertaking full time tertiary education in Western Australia. The scholarship is to the value of $12,000 over three years in equal installments (ie. $4,000 per annum). The purpose of the scholarship is to assist the recipient with expenses related to education and maintenance to the extent that any other resources which may be available for the recipients needs shall appear insufficient.

Eveline Rosina Henty Scholarship
This scholarship is open to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students who will qualify for entry or are studying full time in an undergraduate degree. The value of the scholarship varies and is designed to supplement ABSTUDY. Financial need is the primary consideration for the allocation of this award.

Frank Knox Memorial Fellowship 2009-2010
Up to three Frank Knox Memorial Fellowships are awarded each year to students from Australia for Graduate study at Harvard university. To qualify to apply for a Frank Knox Memorial Fellowship applicants must:

Freemasons WA Post Secondary Education Grants
The Grand Lodge of WA are proud to offer educational grants on an annual basis to students from years 11 through to Post Graduate studies. Teachers Credit Union is offering 4 scholarships of $5000.00 per year to students studying education. The scholarships are to cover studying related expensessuch as course fees or board and lodging. General Sir John Monash Awards
Annually, up to eight Awards may be awarded to outstanding Australian citizens graduating from Australian universities to enable them to undertake postgraduate study abroad at the world's best universities appropriate to their field of study. The General Sir John Monash Awards are not limited by age, gender, and academic field of study, country or university, subject to the university being considered to be amongst the global leaders in the chosen field of study. However, whilst no upper age limit is stipulated, awards will generally favour those whose major contribution to their field and to the community lies ahead of them. The awards are valued at up to $150,000 over a three year period.

Gloria Brennan Scholarships

Google Australia & New Zealand Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship (2009)
Dr Anita Borg devoted her adult life to revolutionising the way we think about technology and dismantling barriers that keep women and minorities from entering computing and technology fields. As part of Google's ongoing commitment to furthering Anita's vision, we are offer this scholarship to encourage women to excel in computing and technology and become active role models and leaders. Scholarships will be awarded based on the strength of candidates' academic background and engagement within the technology community. A group of female B.Sc/B.Eng, M.Sc/M.Eng, and PhD student finalists will be chosen from the applicant pool. Kidney Health Australia Summer Vacation Scholarships
Kidney Health Australia provides scholarships for undergraduate students who wish to spend their summer vacation undertaking a supervised research project related to the causes, prevention and treatment of disorders of the kidneys and urinary tract. The amount of the scholarship stipend is $1,200 and the award is made available at the end of the project after a satisfactory report on the outcome has been received. King and Amy O'Malley Trust

Leukaemia Foundation of Australia - Fellowship & Scholarship Program
The Foundation's fellowships and scholarships program aims to encourage talented young students, medical graduates and researchers to pursue a career in basic, applied or translational research to find cures and better ways to care for patients and families living with haematological malignancies. The Leukaemia Foundation calls for applications from final year undergraduates, post graduates, PhD students, post doctoral fellows and medical graduates with relevant advanced medical training to apply for Honours year scholarships, PhD scholarships, a Post Doctoral Fellowship and a Clinical Fellowship, respectively. Lionel Murphy Australian Postgraduate Scholarships
A number of Australian postgraduate scholarships are awarded annually by the Trustees of the Lionel Murphy Foundation. The Australian scholarships are tenable at an Australian tertiary institution for one year only and are currently valued at $20,000 each per annum. Applicants must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident and should have completed, or be about to complete, an undergraduate degree in science, law or legal studies, or other appropriate discipline from an Australian tertiary institution and intend to pursue a postgraduate degree in science, law or legal studies, or other appropriate discipline.

Mental Health Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme (MHPSS)
The Australian Psychological Society (APS) is administering scholarships funded by the Department of Health and Ageing for part-time and full-time students applying to commence an APAC-accredited Masters or Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2009. Scholarships are valued at $15,000 per annum for full-time students and $7,500 per annum for part-time students.
To be eligible, applicants must meet one of the following:
- be from rural, regional or remote localities,
- be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander,
- have a culturally and linguistically diverse background,
- have a demonstrated commitment to working in these locations or with one or more of these populations
Only applicants that meet one of these criteria will be considered. Scholarships will be awarded based on academic performance, referee reports, relevant professional experience, and degree of strength of evidence for the relevant criteria. The MHPSS will make a significant impact on the number of Clinical Psychologists working in these areas of need.

The MINTRAC Undergraduate Scholarships
MINTRAC is offering scholarships to people of all ages interested in a career in meat processing, to attend a university or other tertiary institution for full-time study to gain a qualification relevant to the meat processing industry. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage people to join the meat industry and undertake qualifications which will benefit the meat processing industry in the future. Scholarships of up to $2,500 per semester to cover the cost of course fees, equipment costs, accommodation or travel are available to undergraduate students in studying for qualifications relevant to the meat processing industry. Scholarship holders will be required to work in a meat processing plant (in a department relevant to their qualifications) for a minimum of six weeks per year.

Mundaring Bicentennial Scholarship Trust
Applications are invited from students who have an association with the Shire of Mundaring through either, working, living or schooling in the area. One or more Mundaring Arts Scholarships will be awarded to a deserving young artist in any form of the arts - visual arts, craft, performing arts, literature, film or music. National Archives of Australia Summer Scholarship
The National Archives of Australia preserves Australia's valuable Commonwealth records that trace events and decisions that have shaped the nation. To promote research and scholarly use of our collection we offer a Summer Scholarship Scheme. The scheme is aimed at university students enrolled in 20th century Australian history or a related field. Scholarships are awarded for a six-week period of full-time research to be conducted in January and February at the National Archives in Canberra.

To enhance cultural diversity and to promote Indigenous nursing in Western Australia, the Department of Health offers 10 Indigenous nursing scholarships of $5,000 each. These scholarships are designed to help increase and strengthen our nursing workforce by assisting Indigenous people to gain further education and pursue a nursing career.

Palliative Care Foundation Grant 2009
This year's grants will fund course costs for post-graduate or other courses in the field of palliative care. The grants are available to individuals with a commitment to the Palliative Care sector. In the 2008 Grants round, 14 individuals were successful, from a variety of fields.
This year's grant will assist with education costs by funding some or all of the course costs of successful applicants. Research will not be funded in 2009. This grant is open to individuals with a commitment to the Palliative Care Sector.
While many fields and areas of study may be interested in this grant round, it is of particular interest to students in the fields of:
- Nursing,
- Medicine,
- Physiotherapy,
- Psychology, and
- Occupational Therapy

PATREC Postgraduate Coursework Scholarship
The Planning and Transport Research Centre (PATREC) is a unique 'collaborative knowledge network' of four universities. PATREC's role is to build professional and academic capability by offering high-level professional education programs and expanding the number and quality of researchers in its specialist fields. The scholarship provides 50% of tuition fees for a maximum of 5 years-Masters, 4 years-Grad Dip, 2 years-Grad Cert for students enrolled in the Master of Transport Studies or Graduate Diploma in Transport Studies or Graduate Certificate in Transport Studies at any WA university.

Robert Riley Scholarship Program
The aim of the Robert Riley Scholarship Program is to promote the pursuit of justice and human rights for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through supporting education of young Indigenous people. Up to four scholarships of $5,000 each will be awarded to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 25 years or under for the pursuit of studies in the fields of law, legal practice, human rights, child protection, criminology and criminal or juvenile justice.

Rotary - Ambassadorial Scholarship
This scholarship provides a stipend of up to US$23,000 or its equivalent for a person to undertake one year of university study abroad. District 9450 will sponsor one candidate. Applicants must have successfully completed at least two years of study at tertiary level or at least two years employment in a recognised vocation.

Rotary - World Peace Scholarship
This scholarship offers individuals committed to peace and co-operation the opportunity to pursue a two-year master’s level degree in international studies, peace studies and conflict resolution at one of six Rotary centers overseas. Financial support covers tuition and fees, room and board, transportation, contingency expenses and an applied field experience.

Royal Australian Air Force Women's Association
Available on the basis of need to students residing in Australia who are children or grandchildren of deceased or incapacitated RAAF personnel, including WRAAF and the Nursing Service. The value of the scholarship is unspecified, but is usually in the vicinity of $1000 per year. The scholarship is means tested.

Royal College of Nursing Australia (RCNA) - Aged Care Nursing Scholarship Scheme
The Aged Care Nursing Scholarship Scheme is an Australian Government initiative aimed at encouraging more people to enter aged care nursing and increasing the skills of nurses working in the aged care sector particularly in rural and regional Australia. As part of this scheme undergraduate scholarships are available to people who wish to undertake undergraduate nursing education at an Australian university and can demonstrate a commitment to aged care. The scheme provides financial assistance of up to $5,000 per semester, to a maximum of $30,000 per applicant, during their nursing studies. Preference is given to applicants living and working in regional, rural and remote areas of Australia, although applicants living in metropolitan areas with an aged care background may apply.

Royal College of Nursing Australia (RCNA) - Continuing Professional Education Scheme for Rural and Remote Nurses
This Scheme is available for both registered and enrolled nurses to undertake postgraduate Continuing Professional Education (CPE) courses and for attendance at conferences held within Australia (as presenters or delegates). Recently re-entered nurses are encouraged to apply under this scheme to further skill themselves for their specific work place. Scholarships are worth up to $10,000 each for up to two years of study. Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents and they must be able to demonstrate that they are practicing in a rural or remote area of Australia and also hold a current practicing certificate.

Royal College of Nursing Australia (RCNA) - National Nurse Re-entry Scheme
This scheme is for both Registered/Division 1 and Enrolled/Division 2 nurses whose registration has lapsed and have not practiced for five years or more. Applicants must have been registered by a nurse registration body in an Australian State or Territory. This is a national program and targets all nurses including rural and metropolitan applicants. Scholarships are worth up to $6,000 each for up to one year of study and are aimed at applicants intending to undertake, or are currently undertaking, an accredited or approved Australian nursing program or course that will enable them to re-enter the nursing/midwifery workforce in an Australian State or Territory.

Royal College of Nursing Australia (RCNA) Puggy Hunter Memorial Scholarship Scheme
The Scheme was established in recognition of Dr Arnold ('Puggy') Hunter's significant contribution to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health. The scheme provides financial assistance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who undertake or intend to enrol in the study of Nursing, Medicine, Certificate III and IV or Diploma and Advanced Diploma Aboriginal Health Worker Course, Health Management, Allied Health, at an educational institution / University / Registered Training Organisation (RTO). The Scheme offers students scholarships worth up to $15,000 per annum for full-time study and up to $7,500 per annum for part-time study for the usual term of the course.

The RSL Captain Reg Saunders Scholarship
The RSL scholarship is open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander men and women who are eligible to commence a suitable degree course at a tertiary institution in Australia. One scholarship valued at $3,000 is offered per year. The successful applicant will plan to undertake a tertiary course of study which will either Major or specialise in the Substance Abuse area in one of the following target courses: Bachelor of Psychology; Bachelor of Applied Science (Psychology major); Bachelor of Nursing; Bachelor of Social Work; Bachelor of Health Education or another course of study that can be shown by the applicant to be relevant.

Stuart Morgan Scholarship
In recognition of the contribution of Stuart Morgan as previous Chairman of the State Energy Commission of WA, Western Power offers an undergraduate scholarship each year to a Year 12 student whose home residence is in country WA. The aim is to assist the student gain a degree qualification at a university in Perth. The successful scholar will be offered paid vacation employment during summer academic breaks with Western Power, in addition to the financial benefit of the scholarship.

This award, sponsored by The Wentworth Group of Concerned Scientists, is for postgraduate research and honours students enrolled at an Australian University during 2008 are eligible. The Zonta Club of Dunsborough (Inc) invites applications for its annual $2000 Scholarship of Excellence. There is no age limit but applicants must be proven dedicated, tertiary students with a minimum of five years residency in the area of Capel to Augusta, and have no affiliation with Zonta.

Zonta Club of Perth (Inc) - Education Award
The $2,000 Education Award encourages a mature aged woman to complete her first degree in any area of study. The grant is awarded to a woman who has been a resident of WA for 2 years or more & who does not hold a scholarship, other award, or receive financial assistance under bond to an employer. The applicant must be 25 years of age or over by the closing date, have satisfactorily completed at least the first year of a degree course, be enrolled for the following academic year & be able to demonstrate the need for financial assistance. Factors such as previous academic achievement, extra curricular activities & community contribution will also be taken into consideration by the selection panel.

Zonta International Jane M Klausman Women in Business Scholarships
Valued at up to $1500, the Jane M Klausman Women in Business Scholarships are open to women of any nationality pursuing undergraduate business degrees who demonstrate outstanding potential. To apply you must be eligible to enter the third or fourth year of an undergraduate degree program at an accredited university at the time funds are received, have achieved an outstanding academic record during the first two-three years of academic studies and demonstrate an intent to complete a program in business and show outstanding achievement in business-related subjects, as recorded on the official university/college/institute transcript.
