What Happens Next?
Once your application has been received you will receive an acknowledgement letter. The letter will request any additional documentation that we may require to process your application.
After that we will process your application as fast as possible. If you have applied through TISC we are required to abide by TISC’s schedule of when we can make offers and this can be found on their website: www.tisc.edu.au.
If you have applied direct we will advise you as soon as possible of the outcome of your application.
If you have been successful you will receive an Offer Notification. On the back of that document are some very important instructions. They ask you to access our Virtual Information Pack at www.ecu.edu.au/commence.
Once you have entered the VIP site you must follow the steps:
Step 1
ACCEPT, DEFER or REJECT YOUR OFFER
You must accept, defer or reject your offer by the date specified on your Offer Notification. You may be able to defer your offer for up to 12 months before commencing your studies at ECU. Please read the instructions very carefully as some courses CANNOT be deferred.
Step 2
ACTIVATE YOUR ECU COMPUTER ACCOUNT and EMAIL LOGON
The VIP will then step you through the process to activate your ECU computer account and email logon. This is essential as all official communication from ECU will be sent to this email address.
Step 3
IMPORTANT IMFORMATION
This step provides you with links to: information about university fees and payment options; available scholarships; services provided by ECU to students; and orientation and transition activities to assist you with the move to university and ECU in particular.
Step 4
COURSE AND ENROLMENT INFORMATION
Follow the prompts to obtain information specific to your course. This will include details of any information sessions and instructions on how to complete your enrolment. You are NOT enrolled once you have completed the VIP. You must logon to SIMO to complete your enrolment.
Step 5
CHECKLIST
A final Checklist to ensure that you have all the information you need to commence your studies. This will also include help if you have been unable to access SIMO through the link provided at Step 4.
If you have not been successful you will be contacted to advise you why you have been unsuccessful and if possible to provide you with alternatives or advice on how to ensure you are successful in the future.
