The Student Equity and Diversity Officer provides a coordinated service for students with disabilities or medical conditions, permanent or temporary, that may affect various aspects of a student's life while at university.

Student Equity and Diversity Officer

The Student Equity and Diversity Officer can assist with:

  • Advice and information
  • Liaison with staff
  • Library Services
  • Alternate examination conditions
  • Access to some aids and equipment
  • Note taking and transcription services
  • Guidelines for Students with Notetakers - Roles and Responsibilities
  • Interpreting services

Registering for assistance

Students are able to register their disability on the enrolment form; access to this information is VERY RESTRICTED.

Contact the Student Support Officer in your Faculty as soon as possible, and complete the confidential Advice of Medical Condition or Disability form and attach supporting evidence of your condition.

Prospective students are encouraged to advise us of their disability prior to enrolment, so that the university can plan to meet their needs and make the transition to University as easy as possible.

Special examination conditions: Students can also request alternate examination conditions - complete the Request for Alternative Examinations Conditions form; this should be done as early as possible.
