SW Bushfire Management Plan

The ECU SW Bushfire Risk Management Plan has been developed for the ECU South West (Bunbury) Campus in response to the bushfire risk imposed by reserve vegetation.  The vegetation consists of intact forest, woodland and scrub located in proximity to ECU assets and adjacent built up areas.

The aim of the ECU SW Bushfire Risk Management Plan is to guide the ongoing bushfire protection and management of ECU assets and reserve vegetation through bushfire mitigation responses developed on the basis of a comprehensive bushfire risk assessment.

Key objectives include:

  1. Undertaking a bushfire risk assessment of the potential bush fire scenarios that could affect ECU assets, as well as assets on adjoining land.
  2. Provide independent advice and recommendations on the location, method and timing of appropriate bushfire mitigation responses that promote protection of life and property as a priority whilst having due regard for the conservation values contained within on-site reserve vegetation.
