The Aboriginal Student Intake Test is a culturally appropriate assessment of skills and knowledge, which facilitates the fast tracking of Aboriginal students into an enabling or undergraduate course at Edith Cowan University.
The ASIT program is administered by Kurongkurl Katitjin and is held four times a year, with two sessions prior to the start of each semester. The dates for ASIT in 2019 are:
The ASIT runs from approximately 9.00am - 3.00pm. The day includes an information session, the test and lunch. The information session is an opportunity for participants to address any concerns or questions regarding the test and enrolment process.
Participants will also have the opportunity to meet Kurongkurl Katitjin staff and briefly tour the student facilities within the building.
The ASIT is held at Kurongkurl Katitjin (Building 15) at Edith Cowan University’s Mount Lawley Campus and can be arranged at South West Campus if preferred. Morning tea and lunch are provided.
The results of the ASIT are provided on the day, with a recommendation as to which entry level would be most appropriate based on your academic performance.
When you receive your result, we'll talk to you about your individual admission pathway options.
NOTE: Though your ASIT results do not guarantee entry, they do make you eligible to apply via ECU’s Application Portal for your preferred course/s. ECU's Admissions Office will advise you of the outcome of your application in the near future. Please allow 5 working days for processing.
To apply, you must identify as an Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and be at least 18 years of age.
If you have a Certificate III (or higher qualification) you don't need to undertake the ASIT. You may be eligible to apply directly to an enabling course like the Aboriginal University Orientation Course, or an undergraduate course.
