Nurses and midwives are highly skilled health care professionals who combine the art of caring with scientific knowledge and skills.
The fifth of May marks a global day of appreciation and recognition of midwives.
The World Health Organisation’s (WHO) website page titled ‘International Day of the Midwife 2022’ gives insight as to just how special midwives really are, highlighting their provision of quality, essential care around the world: improving sexual, reproductive, maternal, new-born, child and adolescent health. The WHO states that ‘planned investments in the midwifery workforce are essential to ensure better health for all’.
Proudly, ECU has the largest Nursing program and the only dual Nursing/Midwifery degree in Western Australia.
