Joondalup Campus Library level 3 is closing for renovations

This summer JO31 level 3 is being refurbished, and we’re looking forward to revealing the updated space early in 2023.

  • Refurbishment will commence Friday 18 November 2022.
  • Expected reopening date is Monday 23 January 2023.

During this time the floor will be inaccessible to Library users, including students and staff.

Approved workers will be entering the site, and ECU Library staff can enter the space at pre-arranged times.

Alternative study spaces

JO31 levels 1 and 2 will not be impacted by the works, which means students can utilise the collaborative study spaces and bookable study rooms located throughout levels 1 and 2, as well as the eLab and Learning and Career Hub, both located on level 2. (The Learning and Career Hub is available during Library opening hours.)

Process for requesting loan items from level 3

If you require a book or other collection item from the collections on level 3, our team will gladly collect your selection for you.

Simply follow these steps to arrange your loan:

  • Locate the item online using Library search.
  • Select the ‘place hold’ function on the selected item or items.
  • Please allow 48 hours for our staff to retrieve your item/s. You will be notified by email when your items are ready to be collected.
  • Collect items from the ‘Hold shelf’ in the High Use Collection room located on level 2.
  • Check your items out as normal using the self-check machine, or by taking them to a Library staff member at the enquiry desk.
  • If you prefer to phone or email the Library to request an item, our staff will be happy to assist.
  • Note: South West and Mount Lawley Campus Libraries will be unaffected by the renovation. However, it may take more than 48 hours for cross-campus collection requests to be fulfilled.
