Team Skills in Emergency Medicine

Improving Team Skills to Manage the Deteriorating Patient in ED

Course description

The Improving Team Skills to Manage the Deteriorating Patient in ED course (formerly Emergency Medicine Crisis Resource Management EMCRM) is developed specifically for both ED doctors and nurses.

The scenarios are videotaped to allow specific team behaviours to be highlighted in the debriefing sessions that follow each scenario.

Importantly, the course is not a ‘test’ of one’s ability to deal with a given crisis or memorise a particular algorithm. Rather, it is a forum for discussion about strategies that aid in the translation of knowledge of what needs to be done with regards to effective management of the situation.

Target audience
