Professor Cobie Rudd, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Strategic Partnerships) presenting to the crowd at ECU Bluestocking Week 2019.
Bluestocking Week is an initiative of the National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU) Women’s Action Committee, chaired by the National President and coordinated by the National Office in cooperation with Divisions' women’s committees/networks and local Branches.
Each year, Bluestocking Week activities and events give opportunities for women in universities and in the broader community to celebrate achievements, while highlighting the issues they are still struggling with today. Bluestocking Week is now in its seventh year, and the theme for 2019 was ‘Secure Jobs. Safe Workplaces.’
This year, Professor Cobie Rudd, ECU Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Strategic Partnerships), was invited to present at the ECU Bluestocking Week event held Monday, 12 August at Joondalup Campus. Professor Rudd spoke to the gathering of her career journey as a women through non-academia and academia. Professor Rudd also updated participants on ECU’s journey so far through the successful application for Athena SWAN Bronze Institutional accreditation, as well as ECU’s plans moving forward with the award.
