Mr Jan Norberger gives the final PGSB Leadership Seminar of the year.
As the Group General Manager of Richards Mining Services, Jan Norberger has the inside word on the ins and outs of the mining industry and the apparent end of the ‘boom’.
Mr Norberger spoke at ECU’s Perth Graduate School of Business’ (PGSB) Leadership Seminar recently, providing an overview of the mining industry in WA and its effect on the State and its economy.
Outlining the importance of the resources industry to WA, he said minerals and petroleum made up 92 per cent of WA’s $121.2 billion in merchandise exports last year.
The event was the last PGSB lecture of the year and was also the most popular, with a big crowd of staff and students from the Faculty of Business and Law other areas of the University and the general public attending the event.
PGSB Program Director Associate Professor Maryam Omari said Mr Norberger’s presentation was both insightful and interesting, and gave a very good overview of the current situation with respect to the mining sector and what's yet to come Associate Professor Omari said she looked forward to welcoming more high-calibre presenters when the lecture series kicks off next year.
