The Student Equity, Diversity and Disability Service provides a free, confidential service for students with a disability and/or medical condition, either permanent or temporary, which may affect various aspects of life at ECU.
In order to access the support that this Service can provide, it is extremely important that you contact the Student Equity, Diversity and Disability Officer - as soon as practicable on or before your enrolment, to ensure a smooth transition into your studies.
To register with the service you will need to make an appointment with a Student Equity, Diversity and Disability Officer for an assessment of your needs. You will need supporting evidence of your disability/medical condition from a medical or otherwise suitably qualified professional; if you already have such documentation, bring it to your appointment or, alternatively, you may wish to discuss your situation with the Equity, Diversity and Disability Officer first in order to clarify what documentation may be appropriate. You will then be provided with a Learning and Assessment Plan, which will document the assistance you require and the responsibilities of all parties in implementing any necessary adjustments.
