Lighting VET Stream

Effective from 01-JAN-2022 : Code VSAAAX

This specialisation provides training in lighting design and technology for the live production industry. Students develop skills and knowledge in lighting design, lighting operation, vision systems, digital media, project management. Areas of study include electrics, design theory, vision systems and digital media, CAD, project management, budgeting, and lighting console operation.

Students may be required to attend and/or support evening and weekend performances and rehearsals. These may be at locations external to WAAPA, ECU.

Employment Opportunities

Graduates are employed in a professional capacity as lighting technicians and programmers in the live production industry, including theatre, film, architectural, corporate, events and concerts.
