University Contact Officers and ALLYs came together this week for an end-of-year thank you event.

Those attending were also provided with a mini workshop on Mental Health, with Richard Bostwick and Michael Monisse-Redman providing valuable strategies for dealing with staff and students who may be experiencing mental health issues – particularly in relation to stress and anxiety.

University Contact Officers provide an alternative source of information and referral advice to students and staff who are experiencing equity issues. Staff in the ALLY network support students and staff dealing with issues associated with being Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual, Transgender, or Intersex.

Both these networks send a strong message across ECU and our wider community that ECU is a university which takes seriously its commitment to valuing diversity and ensuring equality of opportunity for all. If you would like to know more, visit the Quality and Equity website.
