Edith Cowan University (ECU) has appointed Sean Henriques as Program Director of the University of the Future Program.
He will be responsible for the successful planning and delivery of the ECU City Campus, due to open in 2025.
Mr Henriques is currently the Executive General Manager at DevelopmentWA and joins ECU following extensive experience as the former Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director Program Delivery at the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority (MRA) in Perth.
Mr Henriques is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). He also holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A. Hons), Accounting and Finance from Nottingham Trent University.
ECU Vice-Chancellor Professor Steve Chapman CBE welcomed the appointment of Mr Henriques.
“Sean’s appointment is a fantastic outcome for the University,” Professor Chapman said.
“Sean’s experience makes him ideal to lead ECU’s City Campus development and to join the team currently working on this transformational opportunity for our University and the City of Perth.”
Mr Henriques said he was looking forward to playing a pivotal role in the delivery of the ECU City Campus and linked projects.
“I’m really excited by the ambition and the impact this project will have, and its potential to position Perth as a truly international city on the global stage,” Mr Henriques said.
The $695 million, jointly funded, world-class campus will be the centrepiece of a Perth City Deal, designed to bring the energy and vibrancy of more than 9,000 students and staff to the heart of Perth’s CBD by 2025. See www.citycampus.ecu.edu.au
