Government of Western Australia China Scholarship (Post-doctoral Research Scholarship)

The Government of Western Australia are providing grants to assist students and post-doctoral researchers from Western Australian universities to study in China. These grants can be awarded to applicants to study a minimum of 4 weeks in China towards their research. A one-off payment will be from $2,000 to $4,000 which will be made directly to applicant’s bank accounts. Scholarship recipients will be expected to attend an award ceremony hosted by the Minister of Education.

Eligibility guidelines

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • be an ECU post-doctoral researcher wanting to undertake four weeks or more study or research in China, relating to their post-doctoral research.

Selection criteria

  • All  applicants will be required to complete an application form. The application  must show how the proposed travel to China will be of strategic value to your research, team, centre, institute school or ECU.  A panel meeting will assess the applications and they will be awarded on the basis of objectivity, fairness and equity.

Terms and conditions

To receive the scholarship you will need to meet the following ongoing conditions:

  • Minimum  of four weeks study or research in China, commencing in 2017.  Scholarship recipients will be expected to attend an award ceremony hosted by the WA Minister of Education.

Application is made via the ECU Online Scholarship Application Portal. Access to the portal is available between application opening and closing dates via this web page.
