Referrals

Therapy: Clients may self-refer or be referred by medical/allied health professionals. A Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) is welcomed but not required.

We are unable to assist clients who are: in crisis and require urgent support, requiring family/couples therapy, requiring reports in relation to legal action (eg: family court, workers compensation, civil litigation), who are psychotic or have a history of psychosis in recent years or are at high risk of suicide, self-harm, domestic violence or have recently attempted suicide.

Assessments: As a training clinic we do not do any diagnostic assessments. We conduct cognitive assessments with both children and adults to get an indication of  general cognitive functioning, as well as areas of strength and weakness. Children under the age of 18 require a written referral (eg paediatrician, school or allied health professional).

We do not test for specific learning disorders, such as dyslexia.

For cognitive assessments view the Referral form.

Fees

Therapy: The ECU Psychological Services Centre is an affordable service and fees for therapy range from $10.00 for casual workers, students and unemployed, $20.00 for part-time workers and $30.00 for full time workers.

Assessments: The cost for a cognitive assessment is $250.00 ($150.00 for concession card holders). Payment plans can be negotiated prior to the assessment session. This cost includes the initial interview, all assessment sessions, and the feedback session.
