The Photomedia major encourages critical and creative thinking in the application of image production pertinent to contemporary photographic practice. Students investigate historical and analytical perspectives in photography and explore original visual strategies and aesthetic values to communicate their ideas.

Photomedia has state of the art teaching and studio spaces, digital printing labs and ‘wet’ darkroom spaces for traditional film photography. As well as these facilities we offer students access to a range of digital and film cameras and all related accessories to give you the freedom to express your creativity in any way you can imagine.

Studying photographic language, technologies and techniques prepares students for a diverse range of current practices employing Photomedia including contemporary art, advertising, fashion, illustration, editorial, photojournalism and videography. Knowledge acquired in seminars, workshops and assignment production and exhibition is suited to a variety of contexts and applications empowering students to create work related to their own personal and professional aspirations.
