Title: ECU Mount Lawley’s Curiosity Studio
Biography: Paul is a Subject Librarian at ECU Mount Lawley, a researcher in electronic publishing, science fiction author, and futurist. He also teaches at the Department of Internet Studies, at Curtin University.
Abstract: The new Curiosity Studio at ECU Mount Lawley Library provides a collaborative learning space helping to bring together students, and academics from diverse fields of study to help breakdown discipline silos, and providing the ECU community access to new, and emerging technologies including 3D-printing, robotics, and virtual reality.
The Studio helps students to engage with the University’s strategic objective of encouraging technologically-enhanced, transformative learning experiences by facilitating the development of multiliteracies, where each mode of learning enhances the others. The aim of the space is to explore new opportunities, and to further future-proof student career readiness by exploring interdisciplinary work.
This session will outline how we went about developing and launching the project, as well as our plans for the future.
