Abstract: This talk will update CREATEC members as to the progress made in establishing the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Digital Child in which ECU is a partner. ARC funding of $34.9 million was allocated to this centre in September 2019, pending contract approvals. We hope that those contracts will be in place by November 2020 and that the Centre will be up and running from then on with a funded life until at least 2027. This presentation will also discuss the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child’s draft statement on the draft statement on the Rights of the Child in a Digital Environment and will outline some of the issues canvassed in that statement.
