Extreme Far Right Groups’ Use of Social Media: A Focus on Britain First and Reclaim Australia

In collaboration with Swansea University’s The Cyberterrorism Project team, this interdisciplinary research project provides insights into the present-day use of social media to create and disseminate far-right extremist content. The research focused on two specific far-right groups: Britain First and Reclaim Australia and provides a thematic analysis of their content over two platforms: Twitter and Facebook. The two groups are often characterised under the same umbrella, however, outcomes of this research highlight the differences between the two groups particularly in their engagement with popular discourses.
