Student Research Consultant

The Student Research Consultant provides research students with support for the transition to the culture of research, including planning and completion issues. They are also available to help with research methodology, particularly design and analysis issues.

The aim of this service is to support students to develop the skills required to effectively plan and carry out their own research. Our Research Consultant is an active researcher with particular expertise in practice-led research. The Student Research Consultant is available to discuss topics such as:

  • planning research projects and keeping on target;
  • preparation of proposals;
  • choice of methods to suit research questions;
  • research design;
  • data management and analysis;
  • interpretation, reporting and presentation of findings;
  • moving from ideas to writing;
  • developing a writing practice; and
  • conceptual and organisational issues in producing a final thesis or exegesis.
