Professor Duncan Lewis

Professor Duncan Lewis is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Business and Law.

Background

Duncan is formerly Professor of Management at the Plymouth University Business School in the UK and is Adjunct Professor at Edith Cowan University in Perth, Western Australia. In addition to publishing world-class research he also helps corporate and public sector clients tackle sensitive workplace issues through his company Longbow Associates Ltd, a boutique consultancy established to bring solution-focused experts together to tackle a spectrum of organisational issues. Clients include Telefonica-Alpha in Barcelona, Royal Mail and the NHS in the U.K. amongst others.

Duncan is experienced in policy and practice work associated with workplace bullying and is a founding member of the International Association on Workplace Bullying and Harassment (IAWBH). He is an experienced academic reviewer for the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) in the UAE where he conducts reviews on programs in Universities and Colleges across the UAE.

Duncan mentors’ leaders and managers in addressing their own behaviours and helping them prevent accusations of bullying, harassment & discrimination. He is interested in workplace emotions, citizenship behaviours, discrimination and challenges in delivering fair and equitable leadership.

Duncan has acted as an expert advisor to an Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) funded project on ill-treatment in Irish Workplaces at the National University of Ireland, Galway and has worked alongside colleagues in a three-year study of bullying in Manitoba workplaces at the University of Winnipeg.
