Mr Tim Roach is leading the Commerce Executive Education area, in the School of Business and Law, Edith Cowan University.


Tim was the Assistant Commissioner of Taxation at the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) since 2013. Prior to joining the ATO Tim was the General Manager of Regulatory Affairs at WorkCover WA.  Tim has completed a Master of Taxation at UNSW and is a Fellow of CPA Australia.  He holds an Accounting Degree from ECU, a Graduate Diploma in Management from Curtin University, and an Arts Degree from Murdoch University.

Tim is well known nationally in the taxation and accounting fields and has a particular interest in the future of the accounting profession. Until recently he chaired the ‘Future Tax Profession Forum’; comprising the accounting associations including: CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, the Tax Practitioner Board and the ATO where he led research and consultation on a blueprint for development of the tax industry and future tax professionals.  Tim has presented keynote speeches to the Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Institute of Public Accountants and other audiences on the future of the tax profession. Tim was the ATO’s lead Twitter voice into the tax agent community and has appeared on a number of taxation educational webinars and podcasts delivering taxation information to upwards of 10,000 tax professionals.
