ECU and BGIS have formalised arrangements for internships and placements so at least four ECU students each year get the chance to experience working in an area relevant to their studies.

Students from the School of Business and Law who are specialising in marketing, business development and management have spent a few months completing an internship or placement at BGIS as part of their academic studies with benefits for both the student and the employer. BGIS are currently utilising the WIL program to attract new talent to the company to drive people growth and succession planning.

In 2018, Shane La began at BGIS as a sixteen week summer intern, he has since transitioned in to a permanent role within the BGIS facility management team.

“BGIS have been a great support to me while I was an intern and now as a full-time team member. I’ve always been made to feel that my work is a valuable contribution to the team, and that’s what makes me love working at BGIS.”
