Edmund Goh appointed as TEQSA external expert

Dr Edmund Goh has been appointed by the Australian Government  to the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) as an external expert in the area of hospitality and tourism education.

TEQSA uses external experts to provide independent advice on specific, identified elements of regulatory assessments and reviews by responding to specific briefs prepared by assessment teams. With Australians pursuing higher education in record numbers, and education now Australia’s third largest export, TEQSA’s work is more important than ever and having access to a register of external experts helps to perform regulatory functions efficiently and to a high standard.

Inputs from TEQSA external experts provides advice that contributes to assessments of providers’ applications for:

  • registration as a higher education provider
  • renewal of registration as a higher education provider
  • accreditation of a course of study
  • renewal of accreditation of a course of study.

Dr Goh sees this appointment as an exciting opportunity to provide expert analysis on curriculum, policies, regulations, and standards of Australian education providers offering hospitality and tourism programs. More importantly, this appointment will raise the profile of the School of Business and Law through TEQSA to be seen as a leader in the field of hospitality and tourism education and research.

Dr Goh’s vision is to provide expert recommendations to further advance the quality of hospitality education in Australia for the benefit of future student cohorts.
