School of Business and Law Marketing Course Coordinator, Dr Greg Willson, is renowned for his engagement in many great causes in the local WA community including the Make-A-Wish Foundation Perth.

Make-A-Wish aims to grant life-changing wishes for children with illnesses, with a mission to grant the wish of every eligible child – a quest sparked by the belief that a wish as integral to a child’s treatment.

Dr Willson became familiar with Dylan, an amazing 12 year old from Perth who has septo-optic dysplasia, with a wish to be a superhero and save Perth Airport from the Iceman. The timing was right for Dr Willson, with the recent ECU Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Awards being themed ‘Super heroes and Super villains’.

“I’m a supporter of Make a Wish Foundation Perth and knew about Dylan’s wish to defeat ‘The Iceman’. The timing and event of the VC’s Staff Awards was so perfect because Dylan loves superheroes”, says Dr Greg Willson

Before the VC’s Staff Awards, all School of Business and Law staff met on the lawn of Building 1 and 2 to film a video for Dylan. The adventure to defeat the Iceman, a villain on the loose, involved the Iceman having the power to freeze people along the way. And only a very special wish child can save Australia!

“I have sent the video to Make-A-Wish to share with Dylan. This is something that I am sure will make him smile”, says Dr Greg Willson
