The School of Business and Law is delighted to announce that the Director of Executive Education, Mr Tim Roach, has been elected to the WA Divisional Council of CPA Australia.
CPA Australia is one of the world's largest accounting bodies with a global membership of more than 164,695 members working in 150 countries and regions around the world. A Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) is a finance, accounting and business professional with a specific qualification – being a CPA is a mark of high professional competence. Further, it indicates a soundness in depth, breadth and quality of accountancy knowledge.
To be elected, candidates go through a highly competitive election process in which several thousand Western Australian members of the CPA Australia vote. Mr Tim Roach, along with Ms Erica Haddon, Ms Tracy Jones and Mr Andrew Senior, has been successfully elected to the WA Divisional Council for a three year period of 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2022.
The role of the Council is to represent the needs and interest of members in Western Australia and involves, but is not limited to; ensuring good governance of the Western Australian Division; upholding the values of the profession and promoting the CPA Australia brand in Western Australia; facilitating education and sharing knowledge among West Australian members; and fostering a strong CPA community in Western Australia.
“CPA Australia is very focused on accounting education. My joint roles will benefit both CPA Australia and Edith Cowan University in this regard”, says Mr Tim Roach.
