Background

Haywantee Rumi Ramkissoon is Associate Professor and Director of Tourism Research Cluster at the School of Marketing, Curtin Business School, and Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at Monash University, Australia. Rumi has been recognized as an emerging scholar of distinction by the Fellows of the International Academy for the Study of Tourism for her substantial contribution to ground breaking and innovative research in Tourism Studies. She holds 2 doctoral degrees in Tourism and Applied Environmental Psychology. Her post-doctoral experience focussed on place attachment, sustainable tourism and societal innovation and behaviour change. Rumi publishes in leading tourism journals such as Annals of Tourism Research, Tourism Management, Journal of Travel Research, Journal of Sustainable Tourism, Tourism Analysis. She is the Book Review Editor for Current Issues in Tourism and Research Note Editor for Journal of Hospitality Marketing and Management, and a reviewer for over 35 journals. Rumi serves on 15 editorial boards of high quality journals in her field. Rumi works on collaborative interdisciplinary research grants with academic, government and industry partners. She has been invited as a plenary speaker and a visiting scholar/professor at reputable university and industry events.
