My Mahmood Fadjiar is a Lecturer in the School of Business and Law.

Mahmood obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree in 1971 and his Master of Laws degree in 1977 both from the University of Singapore. He is currently enrolled at the University of Western Australia for his Doctor of Juridical Sciences (SJD). He is an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore and a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Western Australia and the High Court of Australia.
He commenced practising law with the Inland Revenue Department in Singapore. He then was appointed a partner in a legal firm practising mainly in taxation law and commercial law, and also gained International experience with Schlumberger Ltd as its Area Tax Manager for the Asia Pacific Region.
Mahmood emigrated to Perth in 1982 where he practised law in a private firm for six years before joining the Bank of Western Australia as a legal advisor. He left the Bank in 2000 and began his academic career with the University of Western Australia as a tutor in Introduction to Law, Legal Framework of Business, Company Law and Finance Law. He also taught Commercial Law for one semester at Murdoch University.
Mahmood joined ECU in July 2004.
