Diep completed her Master of Commerce (Honours) from the Western Sydney University in 2012. Her master thesis was about the exploration of HR roles of HR departments in Vietnamese organisations. She completed her PhD at Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand in 2016. Her PhD thesis was about evolvement and development of human resource management in Vietnam. Her research has appeared in Asia Pacific Journal of Management, Public Management Review, Australian Journal of Public Administration, Journal of General Management and New Zealand Journal of Employment Relations. She is currently undertaking research into Strategic HRM (specifically, the roles and influence of HR departments) and organisational studies including workplace bullying in Vietnam.

Diep’s research focuses on Strategic Human Resource Management (including HR roles and HR department Effectiveness), Organisational Studies (including Negative Workplace Behaviours) and Public Management. She has a preference for qualitative research technique such as Leximancer and quantitative research methods, utilising techniques such as multivariate analyses, structural equations modelling (AMOS, SmartPLS, Mplus), meta-analysis, and multi-level modelling.
