Research activity

The Centre for Planning undertakes a wide range of research in urban and regional planning relating to built and natural environments.

We investigate some of the difficult issues where there is a need for integrations when social, economic and environmental issues may have different priorities. The research has a strong focus on ensuring community participation during the planning process.

The Centre works collaboratively with local, state and National Australian Government to provide usable solutions complex planning problems such as:

  • water resource allocation and management
  • adaptation to climate change
  • sustainable transport planning
  • resource efficient urban design
