Gold class session - exploring pulley systems
Exploring the formation of fossils, learning about careers in the gold industry as well as studying 3D face morphology and uses of Artificial Intelligence to diagnose medical conditions, created a quality learning journey during the Children’s University (CU) April School Holiday Program at ECU.
Across two days, 140 Children’s University (CU) participants and family members representing 12 CU partner schools, enjoyed a range of educational, fun and hands-on workshops hosted at ECU Joondalup and the Mount Lawley campus.
The Children’s University WA Partnership team at ECU were delighted to partner with two quality Learning Destinations; Australian Earth Science Education (AusEarthEd) and Gold Industry Group to deliver “Fossils are Fantastic” and “Gold Class” workshops. A massive thank you to the presenters for generously offering CU their time and giving our CU families fantastic learning opportunities here at ECU.
ECU’s Dr Syed Zulqarnain Gilani, Co-Lead Technology and Innovation Theme, Nutrition & Health Innovation Research Institute (NHIRI) delivered the “Artificial Intelligence in Health” workshop, sharing his passion for learning and expertise in this field.
CU School holiday programs aim to foster a love of learning, nurture aspirations and encourage children to discover new passions. As one CU parent stated, “The ECU school holiday workshops were well organised and educational…a great way to minimise fear or stress of going to university for kids”.
