Swivl technology to enhance reflection

Given the focus on impact and measuring student achievement, the aim of this project was to identify proof of concept for wider implementation of the video recording tool in early years’ contexts. This project utilized the Swivl robots to video record 1st and 2nd year students, both in tutorials and on practicum, so that the footage could then be used to facilitate reflective discussions with peers and mentors. The data collection included a survey of students in the year groups and interviews of the students and mentor teachers that utilised the Swivl tool on practicum.
