Developing social skills through music: The impact of general classroom music in a lower socio-economic area primary (elementary) school

This short study examines music lessons that are developed to provide a safe and stimulating environment encouraging children to not only develop their literacy and social skills but also to value their role in everyday school life. From interviews, log entries and video snapshots of children’s work, this study will attempt to paint a picture of the success or otherwise of this strategy.
