TPACK iPad project in schools: Phase 2 professional growth (TIPS-2) The effectiveness of self-tracking video technology and professional learning networks to promote changes in teachers’ practice to comply with National Standards for ICT Integration

Teachers face a challenge to meet mandated National Professional Standards, which include information and communications technology (ICT) indicators to measure teacher performance. To teach the new Australian National Curriculum, which integrates ICT in all curriculum areas, most teachers need to significantly update their skills. This pilot study researches the use of self-tracking video technology to enable teachers to monitor their teaching, and critically reflect and document the changes in their teaching to meet these outcomes. To sustain future growth, professional learning networks will support teachers as they analyse the videos, share practices and set goals to increase the use of ICT and comply with the standards. This project is funded by an ECU Faculty of Education and Arts Small Grant.
